Board games and Model planes

This is the latest board game we are all into playing,
although it has been around for years.

For his birthday J received some Spitfire model aircraft packs.
He is really enjoying putting them together and is now ready to paint them.

Happy 13th

Last month J turned 13.
We celebrated with friends and an outdoor movie night.
The grass was littered with movie goers at dusk.
We ate, got settled in with our popcorn and watched two movies
(one of which was the old classic Singing in the rain)

J had a great night with lovely people.

We are thankful for the last 13 years and all
the wonderful experiences that are ahead.

Hand Weaving

I am trying out some hand weaving.

Walks down Hastings St

It is always nice to take a stroll, check out the new shops and get a Gelato on Hastings Street.

Back to the Beach

Brazilian style BBQ

The new fad.
Cooking with coals in the pizza oven.

Maths Fair

After the success of the science fair, it was suggested we have a math fair.
So we did.

H discussed the cube and all things cube like including origami.

J spoke about algebra.

It was great to have such a variety of topics and differing levels.
Ultimately it was about having fun.

Busy Beavers

We have had so many activities on that I never have the time to grab the camera of late.
Luckily we do DE otherwise we would never find the time to just play.
Science clubs, book clubs, gymnastics clubs, art lessons, dance classes,
music classes...

But in between there is always time to make up a game or two.

Fathers Day

This year we went out to lunch for Fathers Day.
Had a relaxing day after the big Saturday party.
Happy Fathers Day 2016.

80's Dance Party

Last Saturday we had a blast back in the 80's.
It was a fun party idea which my lovely friends turned into a birthday bash.
Everyone dressed up and bought 80's food.
Both guys and girls looked great and all the kids had a ball
dancing to our crazy music.
What a great bunch of friends we have found here.
(note: Magnum PI and Richard Simmons on the left)
We danced all night until our legs were sore.
We only really stopped for cake!
I was surprised by this beautiful
french patisserie creation my friend organised.
It was definitely worth stopping for.
Thank you all for a memorable evening.

Art this Week - Watercolour Koi

By J.

By H.
This class was big on instruction and hands on demonstrations.
We sketched the fish in pencil, copying a photo.
The artist helped us apply the paint in places and showed us where to
start and how to do areas such as the eye.
This is an A3 size paper, which means working fast,
spreading paint and water quickly.
It is good to learn from demonstrations.
Now we need to practise this technique.

Dancing Classes

This Term a group of friends have been learning dance.
Salsa, jive, Waltz and Cha Cha.
The kids are loving it.
I am loving it too.

Byron Bay

We just returned from a long weekend in Byron Bay.
It had been 10 years since we last visited and things have
changed. It is no longer the sleepy town. It feels busier and more transient,
with more backpackers and less hippies.
The beaches are lovely (although Noosa is hard to beat).
We stayed in a cabin at Clarkes Beach, a few steps to the lookout and beach.

We walked to town every day to grab a bite and check out the shops,
Plenty of beach walks too.

Sunset dining.

Dolphin and whale watching a plenty.
Many whales were spotted from the lighthouse.
Dolphins cruising the beach every day.

I found The Farm.
A cool cafe, restaurant, bakery, florist and farm.

Great sourdough organic bread.

We visited some very small towns on the way to Bangalow,
which has some lovely shops too.

Reading on the beach is a must.

See you in another 10 years Byron Bay.
It is good to experience other places,
even though we are lucky enough to live in the best place in the world.
